Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Found Guilty, Forced To Step Down

After months and speculation and even pressure from Barack Obama Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatric admitted this morning that he “lied under oath” in the case that involved him getting two officers fired for investigating wrongdoing by his staff. In exchange for his guilty pleas, Wayne County prosecutors will drop six charges against Kilpatrick who was forced pleaded guilty to two felonies which will require him to spend four months in the Wayne County jail, to resign his office and to pay $1 million in restitution!!!

Advid viewers last night Laverna Cox was voted off the show. Personally, I think Kimberly (Poprah) should have been sent home. I mean how many times does this lady get to be called up for elimination. I mean get rid of her because nobody likes her.

She was worth every bead of sweat: at a quarter to midnight, Foxy Brown took the stage in the designer's hot pink mini-dress, telling the roaring crowd, "They put me in jail for a year and my cell was full of Alexander Wang," before rapping hits like "Candy," "What's Your Heaven" and "Hot Spot."

Turns out Brown was celebrating more than her self-described "good friend" Wang's collection: it was also her birthday. "When he asked me to perform and told me it was going to be Sept. 6, I said, 'You know what? I'm going to give you that!'" she laughed after her half hour set. Don't expect to see her all over the front rows in the coming days. "I don't whore myself out for fashion." And though it was her first performance since her release from jail earlier this year, Brown didn't suffer from any stage fright.

"I'm a beast on the microphone," she declared, as a VH1 television crew filmed her for an upcoming reality show. "I was more nervous about busting my ass in these six inch Yves Saint Laurent heels."

We caught Foxy Brown after her performance at Alexander Wang after-party at Cortlandt Alley last night, her first show in NYC since being released from Rikers Island earlier this year. Decked out in a custom fuchsia Alexander Wang dress, Foxy treated the sweaty crowd to some of the best of Il Na Na, and Wang to some stage time. "The highlight was fucking Alexander doing the fucking booty shake what your mama gave ya! That was fly," Foxy told us. “So you're right at home at Fashion Week?” we asked the Park Slope native. "It feels so good," Foxy said. "Karl said to me, and also Marc … they all said to me that they never saw a little black girl that was so interested in couture and haute couture. So, what's next for Foxy? There's the VH1 reality show, the cameras for which were on hand last night. There's the book, Broken Silence. And, of course, the album, Black Roses, which drops Christmas Eve. "I don't want to talk about it too much. It's a lot different," Foxy said. "It definitely shows the evolution and the maturation of Foxy Brown. I was considered the nerd kid in school, but I always just loved the gangsta guys. So I always had the best of both worlds. [For] this album, I'm going to integrate my culture — I'm West Indian, I'm Caribbean. I'm from Trinidad, so you hear a lot of my songs have the reggae influence. So this whole album is about change. But it's not going to be a different Foxy Brown. I'm still the same chick, muthafucka."

“I cried my eyelashes off,” she said in the bowels of Invesco Field, moments after Obama accepted the nomination for president before an estimated 84,000 people. “I think it’s the most powerful thing I have ever experienced,” she added, calling Obama’s words “transcendent.” On the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a Dream Speech,” Winfrey compared Obama’s words to those of the civil-rights leader, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

“He’s not an African-American candidate,” she said. “He’s a candidate for Americans.” Winfrey threw her support behind Obama early — even before the Democratic primaries got under way last year. She’s stayed active since, hosting rallies and fundraisers that even Obama has acknowledged have given him a boost.

A mother was convicted Friday of killing her month-old daughter by burning her in a microwave oven, with jurors rejecting a defense attorney’s claims there was evidence that someone else was responsible. China Arnold, 28, showed no reaction when the jury’s verdict was announced and then lowered her head, looking down at the defense table. She was found guilty of aggravated murder and faces the death penalty when sentenced. Arnold was accused of killing daughter Paris Talley in 2005. A judge declared a mistrial in February, and the retrial began August 18. Jury deliberations started Thursday following closing arguments. Prosecutors said Arnold intentionally put her baby in the microwave oven and cooked the child to death after a fight with her boyfriend. Arnolds’ cellmate testified that Arnold confessed to putting the baby in the microwave and turned it on because she was worried her boyfriend would leave her if he found out the child wasn’t his.

That sounds crazy. This desperate ass bi*ch cooked her baby to death over a dude. She put the baby in the microwave; they need to lock her ass up for good, it’s apparent that she’s fu*king nuts.
